Allerton Bishop is searching on behalf of a leading international pharmaceutical manufacturer to appoint a Regional Senior Manufacturing Director. This is a high-impact leadership role, accountable for overseeing multiple GMP production sites across the UK, Germany, Italy, and France — driving operational excellence, standardisation, and strategic alignment across the region.
Reporting to the Executive Board, the Regional Senior Manufacturing Director will play a pivotal role in shaping manufacturing strategy, strengthening performance, and developing a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement across diverse manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple manufacturing sites in the UK, Germany, Italy, and France.
- Drive harmonisation of manufacturing standards, systems, and processes to ensure consistent quality, safety, and compliance with GMP and regulatory expectations.
- Lead and develop Site Heads and Manufacturing Directors, fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, and operational excellence.
- Oversee performance management, KPI delivery, and resource planning across the regional network.
- Partner closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Technical functions to ensure robust manufacturing capability and efficient product supply.
- As the Regional Senior Manufacturing Director, you will support major capital investment, expansion, and technology transfer projects across sites.
- Act as a key member of the global manufacturing leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions and long-term planning.
Your Background
- Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience leading pharmaceutical manufacturing operations within a GMP-regulated environment.
- Proven ability to manage large, diverse teams and cultures.
- Strong record of delivering operational improvement, efficiency gains, and cost optimisation.
- Deep understanding of GMP, regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical production processes.
- Fluency in at least two European languages (English required; additional languages such as German, French, or Italian highly advantageous).
