Allerton Bishop is partnering with a global pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation to appoint a Global Engineering Director. This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape the company’s engineering strategy across a diverse international network, driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of collaboration and technical innovation.

The Global Engineering Director will oversee engineering performance and capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites, encompassing both sterile and oral solid dosage (OSD) operations. Working closely with regional and site leadership teams, the role will be instrumental in delivering world-class reliability, efficiency, and sustainability across the network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide global leadership for all engineering, maintenance, and capital project activities across sterile and OSD manufacturing sites.

  • Develop and implement an integrated engineering strategy aligned with operational and business objectives.

  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring best practices in asset management, reliability, and continuous improvement are embedded across all facilities.

  • As the Global Engineering Director, you lead major capital investment programmes, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery in compliance with GMP and safety standards.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, empowering regional and site-based engineering teams.

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements across the global network.


Your Background

  • Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; advanced qualifications desirable.

  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with expertise in sterile and oral solid dosage environments.

  • Proven track record of engineering leadership for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), operational excellence or capital projects.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams across multi-cultural environments.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across Europe.
