Allerton Bishop is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation to appoint an experienced Technical Engineering Manager to provide engineering leadership across a complex, regulated manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional on a long-term contract with the prospect of extension. You will take responsibility for site engineering, facilities, utilities, maintenance and technical projects, ensuring manufacturing assets and infrastructure operate safely, reliably and in accordance with GMP requirements.

The Technical Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, EHS and Supply Chain to improve equipment reliability, operational performance and site capability.

Key Responsibilities

As Technical Engineering Manager, you will:

• Lead the site's Engineering and Technical Services function.

• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists.

• Ensure manufacturing equipment, facilities and critical utilities are maintained to appropriate GMP and regulatory standards.

• Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

• Lead engineering input into CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, installation and commissioning.

• Drive continuous improvement across engineering performance, asset reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

• Oversee site utilities, facilities and infrastructure, ensuring appropriate levels of compliance and business continuity.

• Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation and EHS on deviations, change controls, CAPAs and technical investigations.

• Manage engineering contractors, suppliers and external service providers.

• Develop engineering KPIs, budgets and long-term asset management plans.

• Support the site's wider operational excellence and continuous improvement strategy.

Candidate Profile

• Engineering leadership experience within pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing

• Strong knowledge of GMP manufacturing facilities and engineering systems.

• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams.

• Knowledge of critical utilities, facilities, manufacturing equipment and automated systems.

• Experience delivering CAPEX, equipment installation, commissioning and qualification projects.
