Allerton Bishop is partnering with a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing company to appoint a Head of Quality Control. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a large, highly regulated GMP manufacturing site supplying global markets. The successful candidate will lead a large Quality Control (QC) team responsible for ensuring the highest standards of analytical quality, compliance and operational excellence across the site.
The Head of Quality Control will hold overall responsibility for QC strategy, laboratory operations and regulatory compliance across the site’s analytical functions. Reporting into the Site Quality Leadership Team, the position plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing, product release and inspection readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of the Quality Control function supporting GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
- Oversight of analytical testing, stability programmes and laboratory compliance
- Ensuring inspection readiness and regulatory compliance with EMA / FDA / GMP standards
- Driving laboratory performance, continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Leadership and development of the QC management team and wider laboratory organisation
- Cross-functional collaboration with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Technical Operations and Regulatory Affairs
- Strategic planning of laboratory capabilities, technology and resource requirements
Candidate Profile:
Our client is searching for a proven, experienced QC leader with a strong background in pharmaceutical or chemistry within a highly regulated environment.
- BSc Degree, MSc or PhD is highly desirable
- Significant experience within chemistry quality control laboratories
- Proven management of analytical chemistry teams ideally under GMP regulations.
- Strong management and stakeholder engagement skills
