Allerton Bishop is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in Lower Saxony region of Germany to appoint a Head of Manufacturing. This is a key leadership role within a GMP-regulated production facility, responsible for driving operational excellence across solid and liquid dosage form manufacturing, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical products.
As Head of Manufacturing, you will oversee all production operations, champion process optimisation, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Production Managers and Shift Leaders to deliver excellence across solid and liquid dosage manufacturing operations.
- Drive process optimisation, efficiency, and productivity while maintaining compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.
- Partner closely with Quality, Engineering, and Technical teams to ensure process robustness, equipment reliability, and successful delivery of site investment and improvement projects.
- Oversee technology transfer and support the introduction of new solid and liquid dosage products into commercial manufacture.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies where appropriate.
- As the Head of Manufacturing, you will ensure all manufacturing activities meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Your Background
- Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related technical field.
- Extensive GMP manufacturing leadership experience, ideally within solid and/or liquid dosage form production.
- Proven success leading production teams and shift operations in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
- Demonstrated track record of process improvement, problem-solving, and driving cultural and operational change.
- Fluency in English and German is essential.
