Allerton Bishop Search is supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing and development organisation, to appoint a Senior Analytical Scientist to strengthen their analytical development capability. As the Senior Analytical Scientist, you will focus on supporting drug development projects through analytical testing using HPLC and related techniques.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee complex sample preparations to support stability studies and analytical testing programmes.

  • Develop and apply quantitative analytical procedures to measure small molecule and biotherapeutic compounds across a variety of dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, semi-solids, and powders.

  • Oversee the setup, calibration, and maintenance of analytical instrumentation (HPLC and associated platforms).

  • Deliver training to scientists on routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical mastery and troubleshooting support for method development, extraction, and instrumentation challenges.

  • Review, interpret, and analyse data for technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with protocols, methods, SOPs, client specifications, and GMP/GLP standards.

  • As the Senior Analytical Scientist, you will contribute to the preparation and review of technical documentation, including validation reports, stability protocols, and regulatory submissions.

  • Mentor and support junior scientists, ensuring high-quality laboratory practice and continuous development of the team.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.

  • Significant experience in analytical development and testing within a pharmaceutical manufacturing or development environment.

  • Proven expertise in HPLC and related chromatographic techniques, with strong troubleshooting and instrumentation skills.

  • Strong knowledge of GMP/GLP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory expectations.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and client stakeholders.
