Allerton Bishop is partnering with a global pharmaceutical organisation to appoint a Head of Global Procurement — a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering the company’s worldwide procurement strategy.
This is a high-impact position for an experienced procurement leader who thrives in an international, multi-site company environment and is motivated to drive transformation, optimise sourcing, and enhance supplier partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global category management across direct materials, indirects and Capex.
- Develop and execute a strategic procurement strategy.
- Build and mentor a globally dispersed procurement team.
- Oversee supplier performance management, contract governance, tenders, and cross-site synergies.
- Drive complex contract negotiations, leveraging global purchasing volumes.
- Standardise procurement processes and implement e-procurement systems and supplier portals.
- Use data analytics and cost modelling to strengthen sourcing decisions and negotiations.
- Partner closely with corporate functions to enable global business goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- International procurement experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management and global contract negotiation.
- Previous pharmaceutical industry experience is essential.
- Strong capability in matrix organisations and global stakeholder management.
- Proficiency with e-procurement tools and ERP systems.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
