Associate Director, Global Supply Chain Planning

Allerton Bishop is partnering with a high-growth, innovation-led biotechnology organisation to appoint an Associate Director of Global Supply Chain Planning within its Clinical Supplies function.
This is a strategically important hire, operating at the intersection of clinical development, manufacturing, and global supply chain execution. The business is advancing a complex pipeline across multiple phases of clinical development, requiring a forward-thinking leader to build and scale robust planning capability.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of clinical supply planning strategy, ensuring the seamless delivery of investigational medicinal products across global clinical trials. This is a high-impact role, working cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, CMC, Regulatory, and external partners including CDMOs and logistics providers.
The position offers a blend of strategic leadership and operational execution within a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end clinical supply planning across multiple global studies (Phase I–III)
- Develop and implement supply strategies aligned to clinical timelines and regulatory requirements
- Drive demand forecasting, inventory strategy, and risk mitigation planning
- Partner with CMC, Clinical Operations, and external manufacturers to ensure continuity of supply
- Establish scalable planning processes, systems, and governance frameworks
- Identify and proactively manage supply chain risks, including scenario planning and contingency strategies
- Contribute to S&OP / IBP processes within a clinical development environment
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in European or Global supply chain planning within biotech, pharma, or CDMO environments
- Strong understanding of clinical trial supply, biopharmaceutical or advanced therapy requirements.
- Experience supporting multi-country / regional pharmaceutical supply and inventory control.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a scaling organisation
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical functions
